Curious Parents magazine has been read by parents in the Delaware Valley,
Southern New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley for 13 years. - http://screenit.com/index.html - allows you to read an in-depth review of music, DVDs, videos and cinema movies. Goes beyond the simple "PG or G" explanations. Caution: does have pop-up ads.
- Edutopia - The George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF) was founded in 1991 as a nonprofit operating foundation to celebrate and encourage innovation in schools. Since that time, we have been documenting, disseminating, and advocating for exemplary programs in K-12 public schools to help these practices spread nationwide.
- Alliance for Childhood - The Alliance for Childhood promotes policies and practices that support children’s healthy development, love of learning, and joy in living.
- Alfie Kohn - Alfie Kohn writes and speaks widely on human behavior, education, and social theory. - http://www.howstuffworks.com/ - Great for exploring things like how guide dogs work, how an electric guitar works, how ESP works, how chocolate works and more. Explanations are straightforward. Caution: The site does have advertising and has a weapons category.
