Dear Parent:
The School in Rose Valley is a place where children love to be. They jump off the bus or hop out of the car eager to start their day. At SRV, we believe that joy and learning can and should go hand in hand. Our school is one in which children are respected, challenged, and loved. It is an environment rich in exploration, academic and social risk taking, partnership and relationship building. Children at SRV are well known as individuals within a community and are supported by the many teachers and adults they interact with throughout their days and years as students here.
"My fondest memories are from my years at The School in Rose Valley. There I learned to love learning," is something heard over and over from graduates of the school. For over 75 years, students at SRV have felt this kind of deep connection to the place where they spent their formative years.
I invite you to visit our campus and see what they are talking about. Learn more about the parts of our program that are intentionally different from a typical preschool, kindergarten or elementary school. We are a model of what school can and should be for young children. We have a woodshop program, an Organic Garden & Learning Center, and specialist teachers in Technology, Art, Music, Science, and Service and Partnership Learning. SRV also has a social skills curriculum that focuses on teaching children skills such as how to be inclusive, how to be a kind expert, how to make an apology, how to be a mentor, how to be honest and direct in relationships with peers, and much more.
